Greenville, S.C. (April 29, 2021) – As part of its efforts to support the minority business community and enhance the diversity of candidates in the field of marketing, Greenville-based full-service marketing communications firm BRIGHT+CO Marketing has partnered with LaunchGVL to hire its fourth intern. While the LaunchGVL program has been connecting interested high school students with thriving local companies for several years now, this internship session pairs students from Berea and Carolina High Schools with graduates of the Greenville Chamber of Commerce’s Minority Business Accelerator (MBA) program.
As a female entrepreneur, BRIGHT+CO’s founder and CEO Jennifer Sutton completed the MBA program several years ago and continues to serve as a program mentor and coach. BRIGHT+CO has now hired four LaunchGVL interns.
The newest intern, Kevin Gutierrez, comes to BRIGHT+CO from Carolina High School, where he has excelled. As required by the program, he will complete a minimum of 40 hours of work with the agency over 6 weeks. His work at BRIGHT will include assisting project managers with planning and meeting preparation, conducting market research, developing presentations, and working alongside professionals in the digital marketing, media relations, social media and paid media departments.
“I believe firmly each of us has a responsibility to step up to encourage and mentor the next generation of promising young professionals like Kevin,” said BRIGHT+CO founder and CEO Jennifer Sutton. “The challenge is especially pressing in the marketing industry, where we must work actively and passionately to increase the overall diversity of candidates. I’m proud to have supported the LaunchGVL program since it began, and I look forward to doing even more to advance this important cause.”
